Affordable Wall Paint- Valspar 4000 Series Paint

Why pay more, when you can pay a little bit less?.....considering you'll have to use 2 or 3 gallons of paint for an entire level. It's better if you pay $17.97 for a low-odor, rich, vibrant paint with excellent coverage, rather than $25.00+ bucks for the same type of paint- which really you're going to get tired of in  2 or 3 years anyhow and want to repaint.

I love this paint, because it's affordable! It covers well and it does the job. No dripping and paint flying around as you brush or roll the paint on, and no 2nd coat needed.
I always go to Lowes to get my paint mainly because they have a excellent paint station and the person there mixes it up pretty quickly. Compared to Walmart or someplace similar, where I'd have to search for someone to help. Also, the person working in the paint department at Walmart doesn't have as much knowledge of paint as a Lowes paint station attendant.
With Valspar 4000 series, you can mix Olympic colors with Valspar paint. Some Lowes require a manager override to do so. But it can be done- I do it all the time!

Olympic colors for 2013-2014 are more attractive to me. True island colors that will surely brighten up your day! Right now, my most favorite is quaking grass.

Spiced Vinegar Paint by Valspar

I'm working on my office now. I decided to do one wall with quaking grass color (previously used in my formal dining room), and the other walls painted spiced vinegar. The combination looks great!

When I finished, here is how it looked. Great colors! The spiced vinegar reminds me off a dark coffee with milk added- a bit too much milk. It looks like a very light, rich brown beige color, not khaki.

This paint was prepared at Lowes. It's a Valspar color with Valspar 4000 series paint in eggshell finish.

Pale Moss Green Paint by Olympic

Well, I started on my entry way with the Pale Moss Green paint color by Olympic. It's light and refreshing. This color is a perfect for a baby's nursery room- very light and easy on the eyes. I love it.

So, I decided to paint the inside of the chair rail square as well. It's a mixture of two colors: 1 cup dark sage and 1 cup pale moss green. Both are by Olympic.

Mix the two and this is the green you'll get!.....

I do love this color- it's Olympic color mixed with Valspar paint 4000 series (cost $17.97 a gallon) in eggshell finish at Lowes. Love it!

Quaking Grass Paint by Olympic

We just closed on our home nearly a month ago. Our new home is a new construction home with no paint colors on the walls, or none of the little things we never think about when house hunting because you expect them to be there- such as toilet paper holders, towel racks, or even a soap dish.

Basically our new house is a blank slate for me to do what I want and get in touch with my creative side. So far, I've been unpacking & painting like crazy all the while raising 3 little kids. My goal is to first paint the entire house from top to bottom. I came across some interesting paint colors. Check it out!.....

I chose this color for my formal dining room: Quaking Grass by Olympic. It took me about 2 to 3 days to finish and not even a gallon of paint. I still have plenty left over for another room.....

So, quaking grass by Olympic is a very calming and relaxing color. Not busy or overwhelming. It's soothing! The green is soft and yet it brightens up the room. It kind of makes me feel like I'm going to look out my window and see a beach front. It's so beachy and  islandy (not in any dictionary). I absolutely love it! I love how quaking grass gave my formal dining room a clean and fresh look.
Now, most folks would probably choose a dark paint color for a formal dining room- I've been there, done that. I didn't want my space to look smaller.  I wanted my dining room to be breezy and inviting.
This paint was bought at Lowes. I used the quaking grass color by Olympic, but had them mix it with Valspar 4000 series paint with the eggshell finish.
